SR-IOV Interrupt handling on Linux KVM

    Thanks for your detail and nice breakdown of how the interrupt remapping should work in KVM environment.

    I am experiencing an issue where a MSI-X generated by a Virtual Function from a card supporting SR-IOV causes the Virtual Machine to hang.

    Host's "/proc/interrupts" shown an interrupt has occurred from the VF.

    VT-d is enabled in BIOS and IOMMU has been enabled in Linux Kernel.

    Any idea why the VM hangs upon an MSI-X from VF?
